About Venkat Mechineni
Candidate for Sacramento City Council, District 1
Venkat Mechineni has been a resident of Natomas, Sacramento, for 20 years, living with his wife, Jayasri, and her daughter, Srikeethi. His elder daughter, Jyothsna, is married and lives in Austin with her husband, Anijith. Over the past two decades, Venkat has been deeply involved in the Sacramento community, dedicating his time and energy to service, development, and civic engagement.
He has served as President of the Indian Association of Sacramento, the California Telugu Samithi, and the Telangana Development Forum – Sacramento Chapter. Venkat is the founder of the Natomas Group and has volunteered extensively to support community programs and initiatives. He served as Vice President of the Carriage Lane Homeowners Association, focusing on community development and resident safety
Venkat is also a member of the Disability Advisory Committee in FI$Cal, providing guidance on policies, programs, and services that impact individuals with disabilities. Additionally, he is an active member of the North Natomas Community Coalition, working to strengthen community engagement, promote local development, and address neighborhood priorities.Venkat holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Software Engineering, with over 25 years of experience in Information Technology. His professional expertise in IT, strategic planning, and governance equips him to bring innovative, practical solutions to city management and infrastructure planning.
As a candidate for Sacramento City Council, District 1, Venkat is committed to public safety, fiscal responsibility, smart infrastructure investments, and delivering high-quality city services while ensuring balanced growth for the community.
